About

Caring for Kids, an organization dedicated to providing nutritious food, clothing, and healthcare essentials to children in Bristol and South Bristol.

For the past 15 years, Caring for Kids has been a beacon of hope for many families. What began as a small initiative by teachers and parents, serving just 19 children, has now grown to support nearly 130 children each week.

We’ve outgrown two locations and now operate from the New Harbor Fire Station, a testament to our growth and the increasing need in our community.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure that every child has access to healthy snacks that require no cooking or preparation. We also provide family food boxes containing meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

These boxes are available at our New Harbor location of our two 24/7 food sharing sheds in New Harbor and Bristol Mills.

Our 60 dedicated volunteers work tirelessly, contributing around 200 hours each week to support local families. Our efforts extend beyond weekly food distribution; we also host an annual Christmas project and an Easter Egg Hunt.

However, the cost of providing these essential services is significant. Each snack bag costs an average of $4.83, and with 130 students to serve each week, the expenses quickly add up.

This is where we need your help. Your donation, no matter the size, will have a profound impact on the lives of the children and families we serve. By contributing, you are helping to ensure that no child in our community goes hungry.

Thank you for your time and generosity. Together, you can help make a difference in the lives of many.

Caring for Kids is a 501(c)3 organization.
